Optometrist DisabilityINSURANCE

Life insurance

Term and whole life for optometrists.

Life coverage protects the people and the practice that count on you. We quote it alongside your disability plan, so you see the full picture at once.

Two kinds of coverage

Coverage for a season, or for life.

Term and whole life both pay a death benefit to the people you name. They differ in how long they last and what they cost.

Term life

Covers a set number of years

  • Common terms are 10, 20 or 30 years
  • The lowest cost for each dollar of coverage
  • Fits needs that end, like a loan or kids at home

Whole life

Covers you for life

  • Lasts as long as you pay the premiums
  • Builds cash value you can borrow against
  • Costs more than term for the same benefit

Where it fits

What life coverage can protect.

A practice owner carries more than a household. These are the needs most optometrists plan around.

  • A practice loan or equipment noteBusiness
  • Your home mortgageFamily
  • Income your family relies onFamily

Questions

Life coverage, explained.

See all questions
Should I choose term or whole life?
It depends on how long you need coverage and on your budget. Many people use term for needs that end and whole life for needs that last. Your agent walks you through both.
Can I get life and disability coverage at the same time?
Yes. We quote both together so you can plan in one conversation. Each policy goes through its own underwriting.
Is life insurance part of the optometrist program?
No. The program covers overhead and disability coverage. We offer term and whole life separately and quote them at the same time.
